The mission of the Faculty of Education is to educate prospective teachers who have gained teacher qualifications such as general culture, a special field, and teaching knowledge, skills, and habits determined by the Ministry of National Education and Higher Education Council. Besides, its mission is to present the data obtained by doing theoretical and applied scientific studies in both the general education and special education fields of the teaching staff for the benefit of the society. Another mission of the faculty is to cooperate with all domestic and foreign institutions related to education in order to contribute to their developments as well as to benefit from their knowledge and experience. In addition, the aim and the mission of the Faculty of Education is to educate experts in their fields, to support the activities related to the education of adults, to promote the development of Turkish language, by using it in the right and beautiful way, to contribute to the development of the educational institutions and the society’s sport, culture and art understanding. One of the important missions of the Faculty of Education is to contribute to raising the level of learning and teaching of society considering the quality and quantity of learning and teaching. In particular, it is one of the main missions of the faculty is to contribute to the proper implementation of the decisions taken by the State administration and the system it wants to create.
As known, the 61st Government of the Republic of Turkey has set a target named "Vision 2023". Within the framework of this vision determined by the government, the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Education has taken a decision in the 18th National Education Council as: "Taking 2023 Vision as a basis, coordination between the Ministry of National Education and Higher Education Council should be developed, the number of teachers needed should be planned in the medium and long term and teachers should be trained in line with this number". The Faculty of Education of the Kafkas University cannot remain indifferent to the 2023 vision presented by the State administration and to the decisions taken in the 18th National Education Council within the framework of this vision. For this purpose, in the framework of the vision of 2023, the faculty has created its own "2023".
Our faculty has adopted " 2023 vision ideal" as the principles of developing the teachers of the future who can understand the behaviors of the teaching profession which will contribute to the improvement of the quality of Turkish Education System, understanding the individual awareness of students and using learning-teaching approaches integrated with technology.
